The St Gregory’s Machicolation is located on the sea shore immediately outside Lower St Elmo, near to the junction of St Gregory’s Bastion and the French Curtain wall. It is believed that these works were carried about 1854, at the same time as the new positions were made at the junction of San Salvatore Bastion/German Curtain and St Sebastian Curtain/German Curtain. The new chamber has been built overhanging the sally port. There are two fire slots to the front and murders hold underneath to engage any attackers. The gateway has now been bricked up as can be seen from the images.
