Listing Type : Coast Defence Battery
Location : Channel Islands
Hougue Battery is two separate gun emplacements, designated Right and Left Hougue Batteries. Each emplacement mounted a single 18-pdr SB guns. Built by 1796 it is assumed that there was a magazine, possibly between the two emplacements. This is a Retired Battery much like Raglan Battery in Gibraltar. Although not on the coast it was capable of hitting targets on Vazon Beach.
This small battery is similar in design to the nearby Narrow Point Battery.
