Queen Gate is a gateway that was cut into the Charles V Wall by the British in about 1790. The gate through the was to allow for the building of a road, Old Queens Road and Queen Road that linked various British Coastal Defence Batteries in the area with Windmill Hill. The gateway now has two 9-inch RML guns mounted in it a protectors. One of these is a Mark 1 9-inch RML.
