Finlayson Point Battery was built on the cliff edge at Finlayson Point, and mounted two 64-pdr of 71 cwt RML naval pattern guns on wooden carriages and slides . The two gun emplacements were separated by a large earthen traverse. An underground magazine (cut and cover) was built to the rear with an artillery store and side-arm store. The gorge of the battery had a picket fence with access through a gate.
