St Pauls Bastion

St Pauls Bastion was built between 1566 and about 1575.  St John’s Cavalier was built to the rear of the bastion to provide overhead fire in support.

During the British period it is not believed that any RML guns were mounted on the bastion but various smooth bore guns were mounted here.  The bastion defences had become largely redundant by 1900.
