Fire Command & PFCs Beacon Hill

Three Position Finding Cells and Fire Commanders Cells were built on the forward slope of Beacon Hill above Noah’s Ark Battery, between September 1892 and March 1895.

A total of five Position Finding Cells were constructed in Simon’s Town. Three PFCs were built on this hillside above Noah’s Ark Battery, and the remaining two at Upper North Battery. The total cost of building all these cells was £894.

A single Fire Commander’s Cell was also built between April 1896 and March 1897, adjacent to the PFCs above Noah’s Ark Battery.  Construction cost were £312.
