Totland Position Finding Station is located adjacent to Warden Point Battery. It was designated a No. III Position Finding Station. The building of the Position Finding Station was approved in October 1891 and work commenced on 23rd October 1891. The work was complete on the 30th June 1892. The construction cost a total of £519, sightly over the estimated cost but did include the Position Finding Cell on Headon Hill behind Hatherwood Battery.
The completed cell included seven cells, Position Finding Cells Numbers 1 and Number 2 served Warden Point Battery. The remaining five Cells, Numbered 3 to No.7 served Hurst Castle. These Cells were all built on the cliff edge and were largely a slightly difference designs, probably because of the availability of suitable land. The individual designs are shown in TNA WO 78/2621.
It is believed that the site has been largely lost to development and collapse of the cliff edge. The cells were all semi-underground and may also have been backfilled.
