Battery Geary was built between 1907 and 1911 and armed with eight 12-inch M1896 Mortars in square pits. The battery layout was similar to Battery Way, although double the size, with high concrete and earth walls covering three sides of the emplacements.
The Battery was destroyed by Japanese fire on May 2nd 1942 when they subjected it to an intense artillery bombardment that blew up the main magazine.
