San Blas Tower is a unique structure in that it does not appear to have been built on an old farm building. It would appear to be a slightly raised single storey building with the familiar corner fighting positions. This is one of five village towers were converted to be defence positions in the event of a airborne assault on Malta. Each of these towers followed a similar layout with firing positions on each of the corners. The firing positions were roofed over but the firing aperture was wide and high, not a loophole. In the longer side of the wall there tended to be a further aperture for rifle and Bren Gun fire.
