Luqa Airfield Pillbox 6 is one of the numerous pillboxes built around Luqa airfield to defence the location from airborne assault. After the fall of Crete the British anticipated a similar airborne assault on the key points and airfields of Malta.
Luqa Airport Pillbox 6 stand on the edge of the airfield and is part of the existing Malta Defence Forces Barracks. The pillbox is on a raised stone platform, roughly one storey high. It is square in shape and would appear to have had two loopholes on each face, although some have been filled in. The loopholes are surround by metal strips.
