Fort Tas-Silg sits on a ridge covering the approaches to the Delimara Point and nearby Fort Delimara. Some three hundred meters to the North of Fort Tas Silg lies St Pauls Battery which overlooked Saint Thomas Bay.
Fort Tas-Silg was more of a land fort than for coastal defence but provided inland protection to the coast batteries and nearby Position Finding Stations. A Position Finding Cell and later radar were mounted within the Fort.
