Observation Post 1 is on the site of an original defence post, which may have later been a machine gun post. There is now a substantial Observation or Fire Control Post at this location, facing North over the open sea.
There is a iron rung ladder, within the position, leading up into Fort Campbell. It is still clear to see the blue paint that would have been used inside the post. The layout of the cell is identical to that of Observation Post 2 at Fort Campbell.
