Beach Defence Post SO2 is situated on the shore covering Marsaxlokk inner harbour. This would appear to be an early design, built before 1939.
The pillbox is arrow head shaped with five machine gun loopholes. These loopholes are reinforced with metal plates below the embrasures. These have become exposed with spalling over the years. There is a small hatch at the rear for access.
On the roof there is a Lyon Light position that can be reached by the means of a metal rung ladder than runs up the back of the pillbox.
We have not been able to gain access to the pillbox.
