Beach Defence Post MA9 is situated on a cliff top that overlooks the entrance to Mellieha Bay, and one would therefore expect it to be an MB rather than MA post.
The post itself is a single storey pillbox with two loopholes facing South. There is a Lyon Light immediately to the East of the pillbox. It would appear that the crew had accommodation to the rear of pillbox where a possible hut base and rubble can be seen.
