Beach Defence Post GZ1 is to all intents and purposes a Seagull Trench. The trench is over 20 metres long, and located on a cliff terrace to the West of Ghanh Znuber Tower.
The structure appears to have been built in separate phases. At the North end there is a well finished pillbox with loopholes. There was then a covered trench, originally covered with a concrete roof, that ran to the South end of the feature where there was a machine gun pillbox and possibly a searchlight. The roof this covered trench section has largely collapsed and is inferior in quality the North Pillbox. The length of the trench had loopholes facing West towards the sea.
