Pinewood Position Finding Station is situated on the forward (North Slope) of Lung Fu Shan, below Pinewood 6-inch Battery. The Position Finding Station overlooks the Western Entrance to Hong Kong Harbour and the area where the minefield between Hong Kong Island and Stonecutters Island would have been. Precise dates are not known but it it suspected that this PFS was built about 1900 with four cells running down a ridge. The four Position Finding Cells are connected by as well made staircase.
The lowest cell has been destroyed but the other three cells remain in reasonable condition.
