Jubilee Battery was completed just before the outbreak of World War 2. This battery is ‘out of period’ but included for completeness.
Jubilee Battery mounted three 6-inch BL guns in dispersed gun pits with underground magazines and an engine room. Defence Electric Lights on the shore line supported the battery. One of the gun pits has now been restored, but the other two remain overgrown and in ruins. The restored emplacement is inside the University of Chicago Academic Complex which was formerly used by the Royal Hong Kong Police as a detention and witness protection centre.
As with Mount Davis Battery, Jubilee Battery was captured by the Japanese in December 1941 and never rearmed.
