This is a coastal defence battery built between 1893 and 1894 just to the North of Heugh Battery. The battery remained in service until 1907 and mounted two 6-inch Mark IV guns on hydro-pneumatics mountings.
The battery was buried and otherwise destroyed by the local council in 1967.
