Just outside Ives Point Battery is a single cell Submarine Mining Observation Post. Ives Point Submarine Mining Observation Post as a single cell located just to the North of Ives Point Battery, between the main battery and adjacent to the 6-pdr Quick Fire Battery. The Observation Cell is accessed through a short covered way from the rear. The cell has a lower level, presumably for the telecommunications and then a short staircase up to the viewing platform. It is almost directly opposite the Submarine Mining Observation Post below York Redoubt.
