The Ives Point Defence Electric Light are located adjacent to the 6-pdr Q.F. Battery just North of Ives Point Battery. One defence electric light position still stands and it suggested that a second position may have fallen into the sea and been lost. The surviving emplacement is still complete although in a poor state of repair. These electric lights would have covered the minefield and boom defences and worked in conjunction with the defence electric lights at Point Pleasant.
It is estimated that this position was built about 1900 when the Quick Fire Battery were constructed.
