Connaught Battery

Connaught Battery was built between 1912 and 1916.  The actual site was not fully developed until 1914 due to financial limitations.  It mounted three 4.7-inch Q.F. guns.  These three 4.7-inch guns were relocated from the Upper Battery at Georges Island.  The searchlights were redeployed from Fort Clarence.

The actual gun positions remain largely intact but the underground works are all sealed.
