Victoria (Nias) Point Battery was built on the cliff edge at Victoria Point and mounted two 64-pdr RML guns, Between the two gun emplacements was a large earthen traverse which had an underground magazine, lined with wood and entered from the rear. There was an artillery store to the rear and the gorge was protected by a picket fence.
