Black Rock Battery was built between October 1898 and 1900 and is very similar in design to Belmont Battery. There are two barbette emplacements, with an underground magazine between them. Also underground are a crew shelter and Royal Artillery Store. The Battery mounted two 12-pdr Q.F. guns. Black Rock Battery cost about £2,400.
