Ouvrage G on the Joffre Line is also known as Fort de la Betahitra. This is the most southerly Overage on the Joffre Line. The Fort de la Betahitra was built in 1898 and was intedned to be defended by a half company of troops. This position had the familiar ditch (counterscarp) perimeter which has now largely disappeared. However there are numerous boundary marks around the edge of the perimeter. Ouvrage G contains one Casemate de Bourges which mounted two 95 mm guns, a magazine and two prepared positions for a Hotckiss Machine Guns.
