Rudder Rock Battery mounted a single 7-inch RML gun with the underground shell and cartridge store built to the rear.
This battery was used to examine the effectiveness or armoured turrets. The remains of the smashed turret can still be seen in the gun pit.
The 7-inch gun was buried under a World War 2 Battery Command Post and has now been uncovered.
The two cut and cover magazines to the rear of the emplacement are in good condition. The actual 7-inch gun emplacement survives but is slightly altered.
There is a World War 2 Defence Electric Light perched on the cliff edge below Rudder Rock Battery.
