St David’s Battery was built in 1910 and included two 9.2-inch BL gun and two 6-inch BL guns in barbette mounts. The site chosen for the battery was not the site of any former battery so was built very much along the Twydall Profile model with dispersed emplacements. The battery included the following features dispersed over the area:

Mine Control Station
Position Finding and Fire Control Cell and Battery Command Post on Skinners Hill, which stands just to the rear of the gun line
Water Catchment
Two 9.2-inch BL guns with underground magazines and hoists to the guns
Two 6-inch BL guns with underground magazines and hoists to the guns
