Fort Stanley adjoins Fort Charlotte and was built between 1787 and 1796, It is joined on the west side to Fort D’Arcy. Fort Stanley is ‘Y’ shaped and has gun emplacements enfilading the main gate and front of Fort Charlotte. The Fort has two main batteries, facing north and south, and a bastion that flanks the two faces.
