9-inch RML Gun

The 9-inch RML gun of 12 tons came in four Marks.  First introduced in 1865 it initially had a similar shape to the 7-inch RML of the same time.

  • The Mark I of 1865 saw 190 guns manufactured
  • The Mark II of 1866 was limited to only 26 guns
  • Mark III came in 1867 with 136 guns manufactured
  • Mark IV in 1869
  • Mark V, a large number of which survive in overseas locations
